EVJEN ACADEMY DRESS CODE & CLASS CONDUCT  2024-2025

All Dancers MUST have their hair secured away from their face for all classes. 

Ballet buns or Protective styles (for example: braids) are required for all ballet & pointe classes.

• Dancers must enter the studio ready to dance with proper attire, shoes and hair.

• Bathrooms are not to be used for changing (dancers should arrive dressed for their entire night of dancing)

• Leg warmers and fitted dance layers are allowed in winter months and during warm-up portion of class

• Bring a labeled water bottle to every class

• Use the restroom BEFORE class begins

• Food is NEVER allowed in the studios or beyond the front lobby area -  please remind your dancers of this if they plan to snack between classes & rehearsals. 

• Siblings and family members are NOT allowed in the studio or dancer waiting area for safety and insurance reasons

• See below for age/style specific dress-code and shoe requirements

TIGHTS for Ballet, Pointe & Combo Classes (Teeny, Prima and Ballet/Tap or Ballet/Jazz) 

Dancers may wear ballet pink tights and pink ballet shoes or true-tone tights and shoes that match their skin tone, whichever they are most comfortable with.

Recommendations for where to purchase true-tone tights are listed at the bottom of this page.

TEENY TOGETHER TIME (parent & little one class for children walking - age 3)

Hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun

EVERYBODYDANCE 

Dance tops and shorts/ leggings, t-shirts, shorts/sweatpants - whatever the dancer is most comfortable in and allows them to move freely. 

Socks, bare feet, ballet shoes, clean street shoes - all are acceptable!

BALLET / POINTE 

Any color leotard - black recommended

So Danca Canvas Split-Sole Ballet Shoe / Pointe shoe of proper fit

Ballet skirts or shorts may be worn over leotards; ballet wrap sweaters and leg warmers are also allowed in the colder months and/or for warm up portion of class.

DEMI POINTE 

Prior approval is required before beginning demi pointe class. Shoes should NOT be purchased before class begins, dancers will receive fit & shoe selection instruction on their first day of class or by alternate arrangement.
